Mother’s Day falls during one of the most beautiful months here in Hilton Head Island, with temperatures ranging from 60 to 82 degrees, the beautiful scenic beach views, and variety of both indoor and outdoor ways to spend the day with the special mother in your life. From guided tours and spas to flowers, jewelry and just spending time together, there are literally hundreds of ways to show mom how much you appreciate her.
Here’s a look at some of the things happening in Hilton Head Island for Mother’s Day weekend, May 12-13, 2012.
On Saturday, May 12 head to the Bluffton Village Festival from 10:00am-4:00pm. Perfect for the entire family, you’ll enjoy great food, arts and crafts, over 170 vendors, and exposure to various artists, musicians, and other craftsmen. Also known as Mayfest, the Bluffton Village Festival brings a bit of romance and (good) drama to the day because you never know exactly what waits for you under the vendor’s tents!
Also on Saturday, May 12, mom can get her groove on with “Street Music on Paris Avenue with the Groovetones“. From 6:30pm-8:30pm, treat your ears and dance your feet off to a blues/rock band who has been tearing things up for 45 years! This event takes place at the Old Village Port Royal and is a fantastic way to spend the evening before Mother’s Day.
How about taking mom on one of the many tours or cruises in Hilton Head Island, ranging from walking tours to dolphin sighting cruises. The Dolphin & Nature Cruise is a fun, family-friendly way to spend Mother’s Day. With Captain Sonny’s extensive knowledge of Hilton Head, this is an outdoor activity that will create memories to last a lifetime!
There are a variety of spa locations in Hilton Head Island that the mom in your life will love. You can’t go wrong with giving the gift of relaxation, allowing mom to leave behind, just for a few hours, the stress of everyday life. Three great spa’s that come to mind are Heavenly Spa by Westin, FACES Day Spa, and Seeds of Calm Spa.
Brunch is the perfect start to Mother’s Day and there are a couple places in Hilton Head offering specials. Chart House Restaurant offers spectacular waterfront dining and is located at Two Hudsons Road. ELA’S Blu Water Grille is the newest restaurant on Hilton Head Island offering fresh catch seafood and steak of the highest quality. Mother’s Day brunch is offered from 11:00am-8:00on. It’s located in Shelter Cove Harbour at Palmetto Dunes.
There is so much you can do in Hilton Head Island to celebrate Mother’s Day (or any other day for that matter)! How are you going to show the mom in your life how much she means to you?
